Sandboxie is a free sandbox-based isolation program for Windows that uses isolation technology to separate programs from your underlying operating system preventing unwanted changes from happening to your personal data, programs, and applications. The isolated virtual environment created by Sandboxie can be used for testing of untrusted programs.

Moreover, Sandboxie offers secure web browsing by running your Web browser under the protection of Sandboxie means that all malicious software downloaded by the browser is trapped in the sandbox and can be discarded trivially.

Sandboxie originally created by Ronen Tzur on 2004 and now developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea which acquired it earlier from the original author).
